Where the Roses Never Fade

I am going to a city
Where the streets with gold are laid,
Where the tree of life is blooming
And the roses never fade.
Here they bloom but for a season,
Soon their beauty is decayed;
I am going to a city
Where the roses never fade.
Jack & Elsie Osborn
James C. Miller

The roses in my garden are in full bloom.  Their delicate beauty may only be for a short time.  The petals will fade as the season passes.  I am content to enjoy them this day.

With so much trouble and sadness in the world, I remember that these too will fade away.  Though we are here at this moment, our forever awaits for us in Heaven. Trouble and sadness will be no more.  God will wipe away every tear.  Maranatha

  4. Roses are such a joy. When they begin to fade I use the petals in pot-pourri, so I have a reminder of them for months.

  5. Your rose is lovely, they don't last forever and that is what makes them so special.
Oh it's hard to imagine a time when there won't be any hurt anymore and we will be in the presents of our Lord! Good to hear from you! Take care of those eyes, I know mine get tired when I am on computers and my kindle too much. Thankfully a good nights rest usually makes me feel better.

  6. Hi Gina~

I love your thoughts today...we really need to try to remember that...this too shall pass. We have been told time and time again in the scriptures that these days would come, so we know that God is in control. But, there are so many things we can still enjoy...like your beautiful roses, I could almost smell them, they are just gorgeous!!

    Enjoy your day, sweet friend!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

But oh! the blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort — the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person — having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Maria Craik, A Life for a Life, "Chapter XVI: Her Story," 1859
