Quiet Beauty in Ordinary Days

Before I begin a new journey, I take note of where I was and where I am now and where I want to go from here.  Though sojourns and adventures are wonderful things, my most favorite part is returning home.

So cherished a home, a humble hermitage, a sanctuary from the troubles of the world. Is there a more precious place this side of heaven?  I dare say not.

Our homes are entrusted to us by our Heavenly Father to care for and to nurture and bless all who enter.  Homemaking is a high calling, once chosen, can be both challenging and fulfilling.  It is a path of patience, hard work, quietness, and joy.  What could be seen as drudgery by some can also be seen as an offering of gentle work by others ~ a choice to find quiet beauty in ordinary days.

Quietness lends itself to prayer and contemplation and thus I have chosen quietness for this time at Little Portion Cottage.  May this place offer you a glimpse of the simple life of a gentle spirit, a sinner saved by God's grace alone.

The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.
